A series of seven sculptural lamps with designer Ingrid Aspen, formed from meeting spherical volumes.
Alveare is a series of seven lamps designed with Ingrid Aspen. Each one is built from spherical volumes that meet and push into each other, creating concave and convex surfaces and a strongly sculptural, almost restless form.
The shapes were too complex for standard slicing. We wrote our own toolpath software so the print head could vary layer height within a single print and move in a more organic path, which gave the surface an almost glass-like quality. It is the kind of job — precise, technically new, visually specific — that Brokkr is built for.
