Fabric Lamp
A lamp with designer Ingrid Aspen that holds real fabric in soft folds using a hidden printed structure.

Ingrid Aspen wanted a lamp that looked like a piece of fabric hanging from its cord. The problem is that fabric left to hang freely collapses and loses its shape and volume.
We built an internal structure in two-millimetre PET that supports the textile and shapes it into soft folds. The construction stays hidden, so the fabric keeps its weight and expression without losing its form. Ingrid Aspen and Ateljé Lyktan developed the idea further for the Oslo Design Fair, and the lamp was featured in Vi bor bedre.
