Undergrunn Shoulder Pads
Stage shoulder pads for Undergrunn, drawn from the thousand-year-old carvings of Urnes Stave Church.

For their next tour, Undergrunn came back with another brief: custom shoulder pads for one of their stage outfits. After an exploratory design process we drew on one of the oldest known Norwegian design motifs — the wood carving at Urnes Stave Church, more than a thousand years old and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We rebuilt the motif in a contemporary form and used it as the base for the handcrafted pads. In keeping with the album Norge elsker rap, the result puts ancient carving on the artists as they perform for a young, modern crowd. Worn on stage at the Findings festival.
