Out of Office

Uppercase is a business-development studio at Skøyen that runs the annual Out of Office Exhibition, inviting Norwegian artists to make work shown on large screens at Aker Brygge and around the city. For this year’s edition they needed an illuminated sign.
We built a bright red sign from their logo, with varying letter depths for volume and movement. The lighting runs on an Arduino and NeoPixels — each diode addressable — with a simple program that gives the sign a faint flicker, like a neon sign losing its connection. The same setup leaves room for other animations later.
