Lesehule — Reading Nooks

A reading nook is a place for children and adults to sit and read together. Traditional ones tend to be flat MDF panels shaped like little houses. For a library in Haugesund, Ingrid Aspen wanted something more organic and more inviting for children.

We developed curved forms that look and age like wood but read as far more playful, using our own toolpath generator — the same technology behind the Alveare lamps. It let us print organic lines and soft transitions that would be very hard to make by conventional means. The result is a warm, sculptural set of nooks that invites both reading and play.
